Here are the latest travel warnings issued by the U.S. government for 2015:
2/5 Sierra Leone
2/4 Cameroon
2/2 Nigeria
1/21 Liberia
1/20 Libya
1/16 Iran
1/13 Mali
1/8 Chad
1/7 Republic of South Sudan
1/5 Ukraine
This means that our government is advising against non-essential travel to these places. Travel warnings are issued due to an unstable government, civil unrest/terrorism, natural disasters, and health concerns.
Regarding the latter, keep in mind that the only countries with Ebola-related travel warnings are three West African countries: Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone. There has been no other reported cases or problems anywhere else in Africa. For more on Ebola Virus, see http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/outbreaks/guinea/qa.html
