Travel Plans for the Holidays

Are you interested in doing something special this holiday season? If so, now’s the time to make travel plans for the holidays. Are you aware there are holiday theme cruises? And they are in the U.S. so no passport or international flight required!

American Queen Steamboat Company offers several fun holiday theme cruises:

  • A Plantation Thanksgiving sets sail in New Orleans on its nine-day itinerary that ends in Memphis. Highlights: French Quarter, Nottoway Plantation, Memphis blues and barbeque, and a festive Thanksgiving feast.
  • A Creole Christmas departs New Orleans on December 20 for a nine-day cruise that includes stops in St. Francisville, Natchez, Vicksburg, and Baton Rouge. All of these towns and plantations are beautifully decorated. Enjoy special Christmas activities, decorations, and food.
  • New Year’s Eve Celebration Cruise offers this same nine-day itinerary complete with a huge champagne New Year’s Eve gala that concludes with a spectacular fireworks display. Special holiday shows are performed nightly.
  • Mardi Gras on the River is a great way to experience one of the best festivals in America. Your pre-cruise hotel stay is close to the parade route. On board, you will enjoy Mardi Gras style activities and Cajun cuisine. In addition to hearing some great jazz, you will also explore Civil War sites, majestic mansions, and picturesque plantations.

These theme cruises are very popular so now is the time to make your travel plans. All cruises include complimentary wine and beer with dinner, 24-hour room service, shore excursions, entertainment (Broadway caliber shows), meals (Southern, Creole, and Cajun cuisine), and pre-cruise hotel stays.

A bit about American Steamboat Company…

They celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2020. The American Queen is the largest, most luxurious steamboat in the world. She has been refurbished several times since her debut in 1994. She was built in the McDermott Shipyard in Louisiana. Click here for more river cruises!
