Why I Like It: For folks looking to do something different, this Christmas cruise is perfect. I think for empty nesters, this is a fun idea. The ship is decked out in holiday décor with lots of festive activities and great ports of call: Key West (FL), Freeport & Nassau (Bahamas) & Grand Turk (Turks & Caicos). You can swim with stingrays at Grand Turk (not to mention great snorkeling due to the hundreds of shipwrecks and explore historic Cockburn Town). At $599 the price for an inside cabin is 30% off, at $649 for an outside cabin, the savings goes up to 40% and if you book a veranda cabin for $799, then you save about $700 off the normal price (which is nearly 50% off)! Even if you upgrade to the veranda cabin, you’re only spending a little more than $100 per day.
FYI: Departs from Miami (so you could add on an Everglades excursion), visit Seaquarium, and many other options. Plus, a stop in Nassau means a visit to the Pirates of Nassau Museum (yeah!) and great shopping at the Straw Market. Throw in Key West (a cold cocktail at Green Parrot and a stroll down Duval Street is a must) and Grand Turk and what’s not to like? The ship has eleven bars, cigar bar (ode to Hemingway) and four gourmet restaurants plus a full service spa, 4-D cinema, and loads of jacuzzis and pools. Entertainment, all meals, and more included while on board.
