In a few weeks it will be Valentine’s Day and you may be starting to wonder where you should go for a romantic getaway. I researched several sources and compared popular polls. It is no surprise that the top destinations are warm weather spots.
South Carolina won the popularity contest with Charleston, Beaufort, Hilton Head, Daufuskie Island, and Kiawah. Hawaii was a close second with Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai. North Carolina made the list with Bald Head Island and Ocracoke, but there was no mention of romantic mountain getaways. The Caribbean was a top pick too with Barbados, Anguilla, Turks & Caicos, and St. Lucia. Other places include Florida (Naples and Key West), Savannah, GA; Napa Valley, San Francisco, Cape Cod, Carmel, Santa Barbara, and Monterey. A few other places around the world that come as no surprise: Paris, Venice, Bora Bora, Jamaica, Tuscany, Mykonos (Greece), Bali, and the French Riviera.
So you have lots of great choices whether you choose to stay close to home or jet off to Paris for a long weekend, which is only a five-hour flight from New York.
Terrance’s recommendations? A three-day Caribbean cruise would be my top choice. And since it is “wave season,” this is the best time to get the cheapest fares. Terrance,think u are missing a great romantic place in your area. The Inlet Inn in Beauford,NC located just outside Morehead City,NC. A 4 story building that overlooks the ocean and the marina. The bottom floors have a working fireplace w/a bed and breakfast atmosphere. They deliver hot biscuits and coffee on request to all rooms between 7:30-10 am. They supply firelogs 4 fireplace. Plus good restaurants within walking distance. Have reservations on weekend of 2-20 to 2-22-’15(valentines was full). Spent may summers renting a oceanfront cottage in Emerald Isle so know the area. Enjoy your articles. U should also ck out awards week in North Myrtle Beach,SC in november each year 4 shag festival. Live bands,plenty of dancing,chance to meet band members,plenty of fun.
