So what will be the hottest destinations and travel trends for 2023?

EUROPE

Europe is super hot this year with Portugal, Greece, Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, and Italy being the most popular destinations.

THE CARIBBEAN

Also, the Caribbean is always popular with Montserrat, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, and Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas (due to its 25th anniversary celebrations) being the most sought after places in 2023.

ASIA & AUSTRALIA

Japan and Singapore will be the hot spots for Asia, while Australia and Fiji will rule the South Pacific.

USA

The most sought after destinations for 2023 are expected to be the Florida Keys, Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

ADVENTURE TRAVELERS

Istanbul, Queensland, Marrakesh, Cape Town, and Svalbard, Norway will be the top choices for adventure travelers this year.

OFF-THE-GRID/GREAT OUTDOORS

• Comparatively, there will be a few surprises for travel trends with most being the same as last year. Seasoned travelers will be seeking “Off-the-Grid” and “Great Outdoors” vacations, which includes digital detoxing at remote locations. In other words, disconnecting and recharging at wellness retreats & health spas, camping/glamping, nature pilgrimages, and national park getaways.

BUCKET LIST TRIPS

• Bucket List Trips will be huge. The last couple of years have taught us not to put things off, so sooner is better than later. Many of us will be taking those “big trips” we’ve been talking about forever. The most popular will be Alaska, national parks, cruises, and the Hawaiian islands.

VINTAGE VACATIONS

• Vintage Vacations” will be big in 2023. This includes Disney multi-generational family trips, small town weekend trips, women only “friends reconnecting” getaways, and reunions.

AUTHENTIC TRAVEL

• Authentic Travel is a new buzz word, which means we’re looking for real immersion. We want to live like locals, not tourists. We’re searching for organic experiences, unique activities, and interactive encounters. This means small group travel using local guides with more free time for independent exploration.

EXTENDED VACATIONS

• Lastly, Extended Vacations are growing in popularity, thanks to the huge number of retirees and remote workers, known as “Digital Nomads”. Countries that have developed official programs to attract remote workers include Costa Rica, Croatia, Germany, and Iceland. There are also many extended cruises to choose from, as well as long-term rentals and around-the-world air ticket options.
