I love Christmas lights and decorations. One of our family traditions is to ride around drinking hot chocolate and singing Christmas carols while looking at holiday displays. I’m going to share one of my favorites with you:
Where: McAdenville, NC
When: December 1 – 26. Christmas Festival begins on 12/16, which includes a Yule Log Parade & Ceremony.
What: More than a half-million lights around town
How: By car or on foot nightly 5:30pm – 9:30 Monday – Friday and until 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays
Cost: FREE
More Info: You should also know that more than 500,000 people flock to this little historic town every year (600,000 in 2015), so be prepared for crowds and traffic, especially on weekends. The town’s largest employer is Pharr Yarns, who helped start the tradition and still pays the electric bills for most of the lights. Click here for a list of area restaurants and lodging.
