Why I Like It: The price, for one thing. This is $1,600 less per person than normal rate. The itinerary and inclusions are pretty swell too. We’re talking about roundtrip air from Miami (additional gateways available for additional fee) to Guatemala, lodging, transfers, breakfast, all taxes and fees, and guided sightseeing. Three nights are spent at the deluxe Barcelo (located near art galleries, nightlife, restaurants and shopping), which has private terraces, a full-service spa & pool, and one night at a moderate hotel in Chichicastenango where there is an open-air market and Central Square. Tours are limited to 16 so nice small group travel that includes UNESCO World Heritage Site Antigua’s ruins, colonial buildings and jade factory. You’ll also visit villages where Mayan culture still lives on and you will explore Kaminalijuyu, and more. This is a great blend of adventure, learning vacation, and R & R.
