Why I Like It: Duh! It’s Cape Town, which has been consistently voted #1 destination in the world by travelers and leading travel publications. I can personally attest to how great it is. It is the heart of South Africa and there is just so much to see and do. Plus, included in this price is international round-trip airfare from New York or Washington, DC to Cape Town via Johannesburg. The total price of this package is less than airfare normally costs, plus it includes breakfast daily, accommodations, and guided sightseeing, such as a full day tour of Cape Peninsula (awesome!), half day tour of Cape Winelands which includes wine tastings (calling all wine lovers!), hop-on-hop-off bus pass for independent sightseeing in Cape Town, and transfers. Optional activities are plentiful, such as shopping at V & A Waterfront, Table Mountain, and Two Oceans Aquarium. What I don’t love about this package is there isn’t enough time spent here after traveling all this way. I recommend allowing two weeks to sample this spectacular country. But if you have limited time and resources, this is a great introduction to South Africa and to one of the best cities in the world.
