Where in the world: Rhone River Cruise with Paris (8-day)
Book by: July 28, 2014
Departure Date: September 11, 2014
Why I Like It: So many reasons, such as the price is discounted almost $1,000 from normal rate (which was still a good rate for European River Cruise as most start at $3,000pp. For $1,199 you get first class hotel in Paris (2nights) and (4 nights) on deluxe cruise with outside cabin, all port fees, transfers, meals, special events including live entertainment and Farewell Gala, and train trip. Also, river cruises are a great way to experience Europe—much better than from a tour bus! Without doubt, the Rhone is the most alluring of all the waterways in France.
FYI: The trip begins in Paris where you’ll see all the highlights before boarding the train for Lyon. In case you didn’t know, Lyon dates back 2,000 years and is the gastronomic capital of France. Yum! Next you’ll board your cruise ship to sail along the scenic waters to Avignon (“City of Popes”), Arles (where you must go to the Nature Reserve Camargue), optional excursion to Ardeche Valley (“Grand Canyon of Europe”), and finally arrive at Chateauneuf Du Rhone.
